On September 30, it was the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. As part of our commitment to Cultural Humility and Safety, we take a moment to recognize the impact of colonization, and the harms that are still occurring today. If you are looking for ways to improve cultural humility and safety in your practice, the Doctors of BC has a list of resources.
We are also pleased to cover the cost of the San'yas Indigenous-Specific Anti-Racism Training.

This year, we are excited to announce that two of our members, Dr. Olu Yahaya and Jodie Foster, are attending the FPSC Leadership & Management Development Program. Jodie is one of two nurse practitioners who were offered a seat this term, marking the first time that the FPSC program has opened the program to nurse practitioners.
Thank you to the 54 members who responded to our 2026 Annual Member Survey—82% of our membership! Over the next few newsletters, we’ll share the key findings.

Similar to last year, only 52% of the Primary Care providers indicated that they can reasonably complete paperwork and administrative tasks associated with patient care. Sixty-eight percent of PCPs said the Primary Care Network has reduced their administrative burden, while 32% said it has increased it.
On September 23rd, the Division hosted a Member Social & AGM attended by 20 members, staff and directors. The event was an opportunity to connect with each other and to fulfill the Division's board responsibility as a society. Congratulations to Dr. Arinola Awopetu and Dr. David May for being elected by acclamation for a two-year term and gratitude to Lyn Adamson, Dr. Charles van Zyl and Dr. Chris Morwood for their years of contribution on the Division Board.

Weekly in-person Stroke Recover BC meetings are now available in qathet. These meetings provide an opportunity for stroke victims to meet with fellow survivors locally to find support, companionship, share stories and learn from one another in a supportive environment.
"We [physicians] are also human!" Dr. Marie-Claude Gregoire reminds us that we all go through times that need support. "You can't be a good physician without taking care of that human inside."
Confidential support is available through the Physician Health Program. Call 1-800-663-6729 or complete the PHP Intake Form.
PHP offers counselling, coaching, occupational health services, and peer support. No concern is too big or too small to discuss.
Did you know that your capacity and desired panel size in PAS informs funding for our recruitment? If your desired panel size is higher than your current panel, the Ministry sees that qathet has capacity to attach and may not need more PCPs in our community.
Take part in our member and social events to strengthen connections and help keep our Division engaged and active.
